The Column (Al-Suff)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
All that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth glorifieth Allah, and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 1 O ye who believe! Why say ye that which ye do not? 2 Most loathsome is it in the sight of God that you say what you do not do! 3 Verily, Allah loves those who fight in His Cause in rows (ranks) as if they were a solid structure. 4 Now when Moses spoke to his people, [it was this same truth that he had in mind:] "O my people! Why do you cause me grief, the while you know that I am an apostle of God sent unto you?" And so, when they swerved from the right way, God let their hearts swerve from the truth: for God does not bestow His guidance upon iniquitous folk. 5 And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me, whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they said, "This is obvious magic." 6 Who could be more wicked than one who invents lies about God when called to submit to Him? God does not guide the wrongdoers: 7 They seek to extinguish the Light of Allah with their mouths; but Allah will complete His Light, much as the unbelievers dislike it. 8 It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion, although those who associate others with Allah dislike it. 9
