Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 separating one from another, 4 and by those who reveal revelations (to the prophets) 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what can make you know what is the Day of Judgement? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 for a term pre-ordained? 22 Thus We have determined the stages of development and Our power to determine is excellent indeed. 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Did We not make the earth a receptacle, 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And We placed high mountains as anchors in it and gave you sweet water to drink. 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 (Which yet is) no relief nor shelter from the flame. 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 neither be given leave, and excuse themselves. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Judgement; We will have assembled you and the former peoples. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
