The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 And by those who gently draw out the souls of the blessed, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state of life? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 So they will immediately be in an open plain. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 And let me guide you to your Lord so you would fear [Him]?'" 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 and proclaimed, "I am your supreme Lord," 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
