In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 Who teacheth by the pen, 4 Taught man what he knew not. 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 Because he sees himself free from want. 7 Surely unto thy Lord is the Returning. 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 What is your opinion – if he were upon guidance, 11 or enjoins true piety? 12 Did you consider: what if he gives the lie (to the Truth) and turns away (from it)? 13 Knoweth he not that Allah doth see? 14 Nay! If he (Abu Jahl) ceases not, We will catch him by the forelock, 15 his lying sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 No, indeed; do not obey him! Prostrate and come nearer (to Allah). ۩ 19
