T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 But only as a Reminder to those who fear (Allah). 3 A revelation from He who created the earth and highest heavens, 4 the Most Gracious, established on the throne of His almightiness? 5 Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth, and whatsoever is between them, and whatsoever is beneath the sod. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 Allah! no God there is but he! His are the names excellent. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 When he reached it, he was called: 'O Moses, 11 Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 "Verily, I am Allah: There is no god but I: So serve thou Me (only), and establish regular prayer for celebrating My praise. 14 The Hour of Resurrection is coming. I have willed to keep the time of its coming hidden so that everyone may be recompensed in accordance with his effort. 15 Therefor, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish. 16 What is that in your right hand, Moses' 17 'Why, it is my staff,' said Moses. 'I lean upon it, and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep; other uses also I find in it. 18 Allah said: cast it down, O Musa! 19 So he threw it - and lo! it was a snake, moving rapidly. 20 'Take it, and do not fear' He said, 'We will restore it to its former state. 21 "Now place thy hand within thy armpit: it will come forth [shining] white, without blemish, as another sign [of Our grace,] 22 That We may show you of Our greater signs: 23 "Go thou to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds." 24
