The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 – and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence – 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains fragmented 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And ye are classes three. 7 The People on the Right: and how fortunate will be the People on the Right! 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And the Outstrippers, the Outstrippers 10 It is they who are the close ones. 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A number of people from those of old, 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon, face to face. 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 neither causing headaches, nor intoxication; 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 Like unto hidden pearls, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 but only the saying: 'Peace, Peace' 26 The companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 27 They will live amid the thornless lot trees 28 and serried acacias, 29 and spreading shade 30 And water gushing, 31 And fruit in plenty 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And couches raised up. 34 We have created (their Companions) of special creation. 35 And made them virgins. 36 loving and of equal age. 37 For those of the right hand. 38

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
