Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Ruin is for every open slanderer, backbiter. 1 Who amasses wealth and hordes it. 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 By no means! They will be thrown into hutamah. 4 And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is? 5 It is a Fire kindled by God. 6 Which leapeth up over the hearts (of men). 7 (And) vaults them over 8 In extending columns. 9

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
