And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat. 33 And We have placed in it gardens of dates and grapes, and We have made springs of water in it. 34 That they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful? 35 Glory be to Him Who created pairs of all things, of what the earth grows, and of their kind and of what they do not know. 36 A sign for them is the night. From it We withdraw the day and they are in darkness. 37 And the sun runneth on unto a resting-place for him. That is the measuring of the Mighty, the Wise. 38 And the moon! For it We have decreed mansions till it reverteth like the old branch of a palm-tree. 39 It behoves not the sun to overtake the moon, neither does the night outstrip the day, each swimming in a sky. 40 And a Sign for them is that We bore their race (through the Flood) in the loaded Ark; 41 and created for them similar things to ride. 42 We drown them if We will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, 43 Unless by Our benevolence, to reap advantage for a time. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 And not a sign cometh unto them of the signs of their Lord, but they are ever backsliders therefrom. 46 And when it is said to them, "Spend from that which Allah has provided for you," those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Should we feed one whom, if Allah had willed, He would have fed? You are not but in clear error." 47 They also say, 'When shall this promise come to pass, if you speak truly?' 48 They await just one scream, which will overcome them while they are involved in worldly disputes. 49 Then they will not be able to make a will or return to their families. 50
