We sent forth Moses with Our signs and with manifest authority, 96 to Pharaoh and his Council; but they followed Pharaoh's command, and Pharaoh's command was not right-minded. 97 He will go ahead of his people on the Day of Resurrection, and will lead them into the Fire, and evil indeed is the place to which they are led. 98 A curse was sent to follow them in this world and then upon them on the Day of Resurrection. Evil is the offering to be offered. 99 These are a few accounts of settlements that We narrate to you. Some still survive, and some have been mowed down. 100 We did not wrong them; they wronged themselves. When your Lord's chastisement descended upon them, their gods, on whom they called apart from God, were not of the least avail, and all they did was only to add to their destruction. 101 And thus is the seizure of your Lord when He seizes the cities while they are committing wrong. Indeed, His seizure is painful and severe. 102 Indeed in this is a sign for one who fears the punishment of the Hereafter; this is the day on which everyone will be gathered, and this is the Day of Attendance. 103 And We defer it only to a term already reckoned. 104 When that Day arrives no soul shall speak except by His permission. Some shall be wretched, and others happy. 105 So as to those who are unhappy, they shall be in the fire; for them shall be sighing and groaning in it: 106 [They will be] abiding therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except what your Lord should will. Indeed, your Lord is an effecter of what He intends. 107 ۞ Those who are blessed shall abide in the Garden; they will dwell therein as long as the heavens and the earth endure, except as your Lord wills. Such bounty shall be unending. 108 So be not in doubt (O Muhammad SAW) as to what these (pagans and polytheists) men worship. They worship nothing but what their fathers worshipped before (them). And verily, We shall repay them in full their portion without diminution. 109
