The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 Their brother Lot asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 163 I ask no recompense of you for this. My reward is due from none but the Lord of all the worlds. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and We sent upon them a rain, an evil rain that fell on those who had been warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
