The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 The second blowing of the Trumpet follows it (and everybody will be raised up), 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 They say: “That will then be a return with a great loss!” 12 But it shall be only a single scare, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 HAS THE STORY of Moses ever come within thy ken. 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 Then [Musa (Moses)] showed him the great sign (miracles). 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
