The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ GLORIFY THE NAME of your Lord, most high, 1 Who created all things and fashioned them in good proportion; 2 And Who has measured (preordainments for each and everything even to be blessed or wretched); then guided (i.e. showed mankind the right as well as wrong paths, and guided the animals to pasture); 3 And Who brings out the pasturage, 4 Then turneth it to russet stubble. 5 We shall make you to recite (the Quran), so you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) shall not forget (it), 6 Except what Allah, may will, He knows what is apparent and what is hidden. 7 We shall ease you to the easy. 8 Therefore advise, if advising is beneficial. 9 and he who fears shall remember, 10 but the most wretched shall avoid it, 11 and suffer the heat of the great fire 12 where he will neither die nor live. 13 Surely he will succeed who grows in goodness, 14 And mentions the name of his Lord and prays. 15 But you prefer the worldly life, 16 but the Everlasting Life is better, and more enduring. 17 This indeed is what is taught in the former scriptures -- 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
