54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 A revelation from Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book whereof the verses are detailed; an Arabic Qur'an, for a people who know. 3 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen. 4 And they say: "Our hearts are under coverings (screened) from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen, so work you (on your way); verily, we are working (on our way)." 5 Say thou: "I am but a man like you: It is revealed to me by Inspiration, that your Allah is one Allah: so stand true to Him, and ask for His Forgiveness." And woe to those who join gods with Allah,- 6 who do not pay the zakat, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 Truly, those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism, and in His Messenger Muhammad SAW) and do righteous good deeds, for them will be an endless reward that will never stop (i.e. Paradise). 8
