3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 We delivered him and his household from the great calamity; 76 And made his seed the survivors, 77 and We left him thus to be remembered among later generations: 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 This is how We reward the virtuous. 80 He was one of Our believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ And indeed Ibrahim is from his (Nooh’s) group. 83 Behold! he approached his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and said to his father and his people: “Whom do you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 What, then, do you think of the Sustainer of all the worlds?" 87 He cast a glance at the stars 88 and said: “I am sick.” 89 All the people turned away from him 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that ye speak not (intelligently)?" 92 He struck them with his right hand. 93 whereupon people came to him running. 94 He said: Worship ye that which ye yourselves do carve 95 “Whereas Allah has created you and your actions?” 96 They spoke among themselves: “Build him a pyre and then throw him into the furnace.” 97 So they tried to execute their evil scheme upon him We therefore degraded them. (Allah saved him, by commanding the fire to turn cool). 98 And he said (after his rescue from the fire): "Verily, I am going to my Lord. He will guide me!" 99 Lord, grant me a righteous son." 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy, possessing forbearance. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on his face, 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 you have fulfilled what you were commanded to do in your dream." Thus do We reward the righteous ones. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 We ransomed him with a great sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 "Peace upon Abraham." 109 Verily We! thus We compense the well-doers. 110 He was one of Our believing worshipers. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq, a Herald of the Hidden, from among those who deserve Our proximity. 112 And We blessed him and Isaac. Among the offspring of the two some did good and some plainly wronged themselves. 113
