Therefore continue to give warning, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say: "[He is but] a poet - let us wait what time will do unto him"? 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Do their minds command them to do this, or are they an outrageous folk? 32 Or do they say, 'He has invented it?' Nay, but they do not believe. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! 34 Have they not been created from some source, or are they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they have no firm Belief. 36 Or, are the treasures of your Lord in their keeping? Or, are they the controllers? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt? 40 Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down? 41 Or desire they to outwit? The unbelievers, they are the outwitted. 42 Or have they a god, other than God? Glory be to God, above that which they associate! 43 And if they should see a fragment of the heaven falling down, they would say: it is only clouds piled up. 44 So, leave them until they face their day (of doom) when they will be stunned. 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 The unjust will suffer other torments besides this but most of them do not know. 47 And so, await in patience thy Sustainer's judgment, for thou art well within Our sight. And extol thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise whenever thou risest up, 48 And in the night time, also glorify His Praises, and at the setting of the stars. 49
