The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and gently take it away; 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by those that direct an affair! 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 On that Day some hearts shall tremble (with fright), 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even though we may have become [a heap of] crumbling bones?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 'Go to Pharaoh; he has waxed insolent. 17 and say, 'Will you reform yourself? 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So God seized him with the chastisement of the Last World and the First. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
