The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise is brought close: 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the utterance of a devil worthy to be stoned. 25 Where to are you then heading? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
