Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

The craving for ever-greater worldly gains and to excel others in that regard keeps you occupied 1 until you go down to your graves. 2 But nay, ye soon shall know (the reality). 3 You shall cetainly know (about the consequences of your deeds). 4 Lo! would that ye knew now with the surety of knowledge! 5 You will surely end up seeing Hell; 6 Aye, ye will behold it with sure vision. 7 then you shall be questioned that day concerning true bliss. 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
