The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 those who are faithful to their trusts and promises; 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit the Firdaus (Paradise). They shall dwell therein forever. 11 We created man out of the extract of clay, 12 then We placed him as a drop of fluid in a safe place, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 After that you shall surely die, 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And indeed, We have created above you seven [celestial] orbits: and never are We unmindful of [any aspect of Our] creation. 17 And We send down water from the sky according to (due) measure, and We cause it to soak in the soil; and We certainly are able to drain it off (with ease). 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 And a tree that grows out of Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
