And when thy Lord called to Moses, 'Go to the people of the evildoers, 10 The people of Firon: Will they not guard (against evil)? 11 He said, "My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 As for me, they hold the charge of a crime against me. I fear they will put me to death." 14 [Allah] said, "No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 let the Children of Israel go with us!'" 17 Fir'awn said: brought we not thee up amongst us as a child? And thou tarriedst amongst us for many years of thy life? 18 And yet thou didst commit that [heinous] deed of thine, and [hast thus shown that] thou art one of the ingrate!" 19 Moses said, "I did do it and I made a mistake. 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord bestowed on me wisdom and made me one of the sent ones. 21 And this is the favour with which you taunt me -- that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord and Cherisher of the heavens and the earth, and all between,- if ye want to be quite sure." 24 Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear (what he says)?" 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Pharaoh said, "This messenger who has been sent to you is surely possessed!" 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 'If you take any other god except myself' he (Pharaoh) replied, 'you shall be thrown into prison' 29 He said: What! even if I bring to you something manifest? 30 Said Firaun, “Then bring it, if you are of the truthful.” 31 So (Moses) threw his rod, and behold, it was a serpent, plain (for all to see)! 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
