And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 It has been revealed through the trustworthy Spirit 193 Upon your heart that you may be of the warners 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 And lo! it is in the Scriptures of the men of old. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned men of the Israelites know it? 197 And if we had revealed it to any of the foreigners 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it (the denial of the Quran) to enter the hearts of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners, etc.). 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 It shall come to them of a sudden, while they perceive it not; 202 Then they will say: are we to be respited? 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Seest thou? If We do let them enjoy (this life) for a few years, 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 none of their luxuries will be able to save them from the torment? 207 Never did We destroy a population, but had its warners - 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 And the devils have not brought the revelation down. 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Verily far from hearing are they removed. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn [whomever thou canst reach, beginning with] thy kinsfolk, 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 If they do not obey you, tell them: "I am not responsible for what you do." 216 And rely thou upon the Mighty, the Merciful. 217 Who sees you when you stand up. 218 And watches your movements among those who prostrate in prayer. 219 Verily He! He is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend upon all sinful self-deceivers 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 and they say what they do not do? 226 Save those who believed and worked righteous works and remembered Allah much, and vindicated themselves after they had been wronged. And anon those who do wrong shall come to know with what a translating they shall be translated. 227
