▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ So I call the placement of the stars to witness -- 75 And this surely is great evidence if you can understand -- 76 That it is a Recitation honourable. 77 [conveyed unto man] in a well-guarded divine writ 78 Which none toucheth save the purified, 79 [It is] a revelation from the Lord of the worlds. 80 Is it this Statement that ye scorn, 81 Do you make its denial your means of livelihood? 82 Then why do ye not (intervene) when (the soul of the dying man) reaches the throat,- 83 And ye are then looking on. 84 And We are nearer to it than you, but you do not see-- 85 Then why do you not, if you are not to be recompensed, 86 Can you not bring him back? (Answer) if you are truthful 87 Thus if he is of those brought nigh, 88 There will be peace and plenty, and gardens of tranquility for him. 89 and if he is of those who are on the Right, 90 Then [the angels will say], "Peace for you; [you are] from the companions of the right." 91 But if he was of the deniers [who were] astray, 92 Then his reception is the hot boiling water. 93 And burning in hell. 94 That indeed is the absolute truth. 95 So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. 96

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
