The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And who quickly present themselves. 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 On the Day, the shiverer shivers 6 And the second followeth it, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They have said, "Such a resurrection will certainly be a great loss". 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 And they will wake up suddenly. 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 "And say to him, 'Wouldst thou that thou shouldst be purified (from sin)?- 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 But he denied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
