And remember Our bondman Ayyub (Job); when he cried out* to his Lord, “The devil has struck me with hardship and pain.” (After seven years of patience.) 41 We said, "Stamp your foot! Here is cool water for you to wash in and drink," 42 And We granted to him his family and also the like of them, as a mercy from Us, and as a reminder to people of understanding, 43 "And take in your hand a bundle of thin grass and strike therewith (your wife), and break not your oath. Truly! We found him patient. How excellent (a) slave! Verily, he was ever oft-returning in repentance (to Us)! 44 And remember Our servants Ibrahim and Ishaq and Yaqoub, men of power and insight. 45 We indeed gave them distinction with a genuine affair – the remembrance of the (everlasting) abode. 46 And behold, in Our sight they were indeed among the elect, the truly good! 47 And call to mind Ishmael and Elisha, and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto Us]: for, each of them was of the truly good! 48 This is a Reminder. The righteous shall have a good place to return to: 49 #NAME? 50 They will be resting therein and will be able to ask for many kinds of fruit and drink. 51 ۞ They will have bashful wives of equal age with them. 52 This is what you are promised for the Day of Reckoning: 53 Verily this is Our provision: there will be no ceasing thereof. 54 All this [for the righteous]: but, verily, the most evil of all goals awaits those who are wont to transgress the bounds of what is right: 55 Hell, which they will [enter to] burn, and wretched is the resting place. 56 (They will be told), "This is your recompense. 57 And other [punishments] of its type [in various] kinds. 58 This is a crowd rushing in along with you; no welcome for them; verily they are to roast in the Fire. 59 They will say: "In fact, it is you who will have no welcome. It is you who brought this upon us. What an evil place of rest!" 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And they shall say: What is the matter with us that we do not see men whom we used to count among the vicious? 62 Did we take them (wrongly) for a laughing-stock, or have our eyes missed them? 63 Such, behold, will in truth be the [confusion and] mutual wrangling of the people of the fire! 64
