The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER those [stars] that rise only to set, 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 And those who arrange [each] matter, 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And the following event will come after it. 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 Their looks will be downcast. 9 They are [presently] saying, "Will we indeed be returned to [our] former state [of life]? 10 When we have become bones decayed! 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa! 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 and say to him: 'Are you willing to be purified, 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 and brusquely turned his back [on Moses]; 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
