The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 - The piercing Star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 Let the human being reflect that from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And it is not amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So allow time for the disbelievers. Leave them awhile. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
