Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 about to enter a glowing fire, 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 in a garden sublime, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 Therein will be thrones raised high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And carpets spread out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 how heaven was lifted up, 18 how the mountains were hoisted, 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Indeed, to Us is their return. 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
Almighty Allah's Truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
