SAY [O Muhammad]: "I am only a warner; and there is no deity whatever save God, the One, who holds absolute sway over all that exists, 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between the twain, the Mighty, the Forgiver. 66 Say, "This is momentous news, 67 "From which ye do turn away! 68 I had no knowledge of the exalted assembly [of angels] when they were disputing [the creation of Adam]. 69 Naught is revealed to me save that I am a plain warner. 70 When thy Lord said unto the angels: Lo! I am about to create a mortal out of mire, 71 So when I have fashioned him and breathed into him (his) soul created by Me, then you fall down prostrate to him." 72 So all the angels prostrated, every one, without exception. 73 except Iblis who puffed himself up with pride and became a disbeliever. 74 He said: O Iblis! what prevented you that you should do obeisance to him whom I created with My two hands? Are you proud or are you of the exalted ones? 75 He (satan) replied: 'I am better than he. You created me from fire, and You created him from clay' 76 Allah said: get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art driven away. 77 And indeed, upon you is My curse until the Day of Recompense." 78 He said, "Lord, grant me respite until the Day of Resurrection". 79 [Allah] said, "So indeed, you are of those reprieved 80 "Till the Day of the time appointed." 81 (Iblis) said: "Then, by Thy power, I will put them all in the wrong, 82 Save Thy single-minded slaves among them. 83 [And God] said: "This, then, is the truth! And this truth do I state: 84 I will fill up Hell with you and every one of them who follows you." 85 Say (Prophet Muhammad): 'For this I ask of you no wage, and I am not of those who take things upon themselves. 86 "This is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds. 87 "And ye shall certainly know the truth of it (all) after a while." 88
