The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the inevitable event comes, 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is violently shaken 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 So that they become dust seattered. 6 [on that Day] you shall be divided into three groups. 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And those on the Left Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Record in their left hands), Who will be those on the Left Hand? (As a disgrace for them, because they will enter Hell). 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 Those are they who will be brought nigh 11 In the gardens of bliss. 12 (a throng of the ancients 13 And a few of the later peoples, 14 (They will be) on Thrones encrusted (with gold and precious stones), 15 reclining on them facing each other; 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 They will have maidens with large, lovely black and white eyes, 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 a recompense for all that they did. 24 They will not hear any unnecessary or sinful talk 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 and spreading shade 30 and flowing water, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Neither intercepted nor forbidden, 33 And raised couches; 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 and shall have made them virgins, 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
