The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is overthrown, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 and the night that falls, 17 and brightening morning, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 And it (the Quran) is not the word of the outcast Shaitan (Satan). 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
