The dwellers in El-Hijr cried lies to the Envoys. 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Cast not thine eyes toward that which We have let classes of them to enjoy; and grieve not over them, and lower thy wing unto the believers. 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 who have broken the Koran into fragments. 91 But, by thy Sustainer! [On the Day of Judgment] We shall indeed call them to account, one and all, 92 About all what they used to do. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 We are surely sufficient to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 We know indeed thy breast is straitened by the things they say. 97 But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
