And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 And if you obey a mortal like yourselves, then most surely you will be losers: 34 Does he give you a promise that when you are dead and turned to dust and bones, you will be raised to life again? 35 ۞ Begone, begone, with that which ye are promised! 36 There is nought but our life of the world; we die and we live, and we are not going to be raised up. 37 He is naught but a man who has forged against God a lie, and we will not believe him.' 38 He said, “My Lord! Help me as they deny me.” 39 God said, "Before long they will be filled with regret." 40 So the true Scream seized them – We therefore made them like rotten hay; so away with the unjust people! 41 Then, after them, We created other generations. 42 Every nation has an appointed life span. 43 Then sent We our messengers in succession: every time there came to a people their messenger, they accused him of falsehood: so We made them follow each other (in punishment): We made them as a tale (that is told): So away with a people that will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear proofs 45 to Pharaoh and to his chiefs, but they behaved superciliously and they were haughty. 46 So they said: shall we believe in two human beings like unto us, while their nation are to us slaves? 47 So they denied them and were of those destroyed. 48 And We verily gave Moses the Scripture, that haply they might go aright. 49 We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and gave them a refuge on a hillside where there was a hollow and a spring. 50
