A token unto them is the dead earth. We revive it, and We bring forth from it grain so that they eat thereof; 33 and We made therein gardens of palms and vines, and therein We caused fountains to gush forth, 34 That they may eat of the fruit thereof; and their hands worked it not. Will they not, therefore, give thanks? 35 Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. 36 And a sign for them is the night; We strip the day out of it, thereupon they are in darkness. 37 While the sun keeps revolving in its orbit. This is the dispensation of the mighty, all-knowing (God). 38 And We have appointed positions for the moon till it returns like an old branch of the date palm. 39 The sun cannot overtake the moon, nor can the night outpace the day: each floats in [its own] orbit. 40 And [it ought to be] a sign for them that We bear their offspring [over the seas] in laden ships, 41 and We have created for them the like of it whereon they ride; 42 If it were Our will, We could drown them: then there would be no helper [to hear their cry], nor could they be saved. 43 unless it be a mercy from us, and as an enjoyment for a season. 44 When it is said to them: 'Have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy' 45 Yet there never comes to them any sign of their Lord's signs, but they turn away from it. 46 And when it is said to them: “Spend (in the Way of Allah) out of the sustenance that Allah has provided you,” the unbelievers say to the believers: “Shall we feed him whom, Allah would have fed, had He so wished?” Say: “You are in evident error.” 47 And they say: when will this promise be fulfilled if ye say sooth? 48 The Truth is that they are waiting for nothing but a mighty Blast to seize them the while they are disputing (in their worldly affairs), 49 Then they would not be able to make a will, or go back to their people. 50
