Al-Dukhaan 3 of 3
Lo! the tree of Zaqqum, 43 Will be the food of the sinners, 44 Like boiling oil, it will boil in the bellies, 45 Like the boiling of hot water. 46 “Seize him and drag him to the middle of the Blazing Fire, 47 then pour over his head the chastisement of boiling water!' 48 Taste it - thou who [on earth] hast considered thyself so mighty, so noble! 49 “Indeed this is what you used to doubt about.” 50 Surely the godfearing shall be in a station secure 51 amid gardens and springs, 52 clothed in fine silk and rich brocade, sitting face to face with one another. 53 Just like that. We shall pair them with companions with large black eyes. 54 There can they call for every kind of fruit in peace and security; 55 They taste not death therein, save the first death. And He hath saved them from the doom of hell, 56 As bounty from your Lord. That is what is the great attainment. 57 Now We have made it easy by thy tongue, that haply they may remember. 58 So watch, [O Muhammad]; indeed, they are watching [for your end]. 59

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
