Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 How awesome that laying-bare of the truth! 2 And what will make thee realise what the Sure Reality is? 3 Thamud and 'Aad denied the Striking Calamity. 4 the Thamud were destroyed by a terrible storm of thunder and lightning; 5 And as for 'Aad they were destroyed by a wind, furious, roaring. 6 He made it rage against them seven nights and eight days in succession: so that thou couldst see the (whole) people lying prostrate in its (path), as they had been roots of hollow palm-trees tumbled down! 7 Can you see any remnant of them now? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 They did not follow the Messenger of their Lord, and so He seized them with a severe grip. 10 Verily We! when the water rose, We bare you upon the traversing ark. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 So, when the Trumpet is blown with a single blast 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 Then on that Day, the Resurrection will occur, 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 and the angels shall stand upon its borders, and upon that day eight shall carry above them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that Day you shall be exposed, and no secret of yours will remain hidden. 18 Then he that will be given his Record in his right hand will say: "Ah here! Read ye my Record! 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 His shall be a pleasing life 21 in a high Garden, 22 its clusters nigh to gather. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Would that it (my death) had ended it all! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 my authority is gone from me.' 29 It will be said, “Seize him, and shackle him.” 30 Roast him in Hell, 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 He did not believe in God the supreme, 33 “And did not urge to feed the needy.” 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
