The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Woe to those that deal in fraud,- 1 who demand of other people full measure for themselves, 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 on a fateful Day. 5 the Day when people will stand before the Lord of the Worlds? 6 Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what will make you know what Sijjin is? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 Then lo! they verily will burn in hell, 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 No indeed; the book of the pious is in Illiyun; 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 A record of good deeds written. 20 witnessed by those brought nigh. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 On couches face to face. 23 Thou wilt recognise in their faces the beaming brightness of Bliss. 24 They will be served the choicest wine, sealed 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A spring from which those near [to Allah] drink. 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 and whenever they see those [who believe,] they say: "Behold, these [people] have indeed gone astray!" 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 But today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers; 34 On thrones, they will look. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid (fully) for what they used to do? 36
