۞ And when the son of Mary is quoted as an example, behold! the folk laugh out, 57 and said: “Who is better, our deities or he?” They said so only out of contentiousness. They are a disputatious people. 58 Jesus was a servant of Ours to whom We had granted favors and whom We made as an example for the Israelites. 59 Had We wanted, We could have made the angels as your successors on the earth. 60 And lo! verily there is knowledge of the Hour. So doubt ye not concerning it, but follow Me. This is the right path. 61 And let not Shaitan (Satan) hinder you (from the right religion, i.e. Islamic Monotheism), Verily, he (Satan) to you is a plain enemy. 62 And when 'Iesa (Jesus) came with (Our) clear Proofs, he said: "I have come to you with Al-Hikmah (Prophethood), and in order to make clear to you some of the (points) in which you differ, therefore fear Allah and obey me, 63 Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path." 64 But factions from among those [who came after Jesus] began to hold divergent views: woe, then, unto those who are bent on evildoing - [woe] for the suffering [that will befall them] on a grievous Day! 65 They await but the Hour: that it should come upon them of a sudden, while they perceive not. 66 On that Day close friends shall become enemies of each other, except those who fear (Allah). 67
