The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
The Hour (of Judgment) is nigh, and the moon is cleft asunder. 1 And if they behold a sign, they turn away and say: magic continuous 2 They have rejected it and have followed their own desires, but all matters will be settled (by God). 3 And indeed the news which had a lot of deterrence, came to them. 4 profound in wisdom, but all warnings have been of no avail: 5 Therefore turn away from them; on the day when the announcer will call towards a severe unknown matter – 6 They will come forth,- their eyes humbled - from (their) graves, (torpid) like locusts scattered abroad, 7 running (with their necks extended) to the Caller. The unbelievers will say: 'This is indeed a harsh Day' 8 ۞ The people of Noah had denied before them, and had called Our votary a liar, and said: "He is possessed," and repulsed him. 9 So he cried unto his Lord, saying: I am vanquished, so give help. 10 So We opened the gates of heaven, with water pouring forth. 11 And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined. 12 But We bore him on an (Ark) made of broad planks and caulked with palm-fibre: 13 Sailing, before Our eyes, a reward for him who was denied. 14 And We left the Ark as a Sign. Is there, then, any who will take heed? 15 How terrible then was My punishment and My warning. 16 We have made it easy to learn lessons from the Quran. Is there anyone who would receive admonition? 17 Aad too belied. How then were My punishment and My warnings! 18 Verily, We sent against them a furious wind of harsh voice on a day of evil omen and continuous calamity. 19 Which snatched away men as though they were palm trees pulled out by the roots. 20 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 21 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished! 22
