The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Most Beneficent (Allah)! 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created the human 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven He has raised high, and He has set up the Balance. 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He created man (Adam) from sounding clay like the clay of pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has set the two oceans in motion, converging together. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 And His are the ships reared aloft in the sea like mountains. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. (3) وقف جائز مع تساوي أولوية الوقف والوصل، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال النصف للنصف. (4) وقف جائز مع الوصل أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلث. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
