The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when full-term she-camels are neglected 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls are paired 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 And when hell is lighted, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 So by oath of those, the planets that revolve. 15 The stars which rise and set, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 where then are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
