Said he to the Council about him, 'Surely this man is a cunning sorcerer 34 He would drive you out of your land through his magic; what then is it ye command? 35 They said, "Let him and his brother wait a while, and send heralds into the cities, 36 That they should bring to you every skillful magician. 37 So the magicians were assembled at a set time on a day made known. 38 and the people were asked: 'Will you gather 39 (They said): Aye, so that we may follow the wizards if they are the winners. 40 And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, "Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?" 41 He said: yea; and ye shall verily then be of those brought nigh. 42 Moosa said to them, “Cast whatever you intend to cast.” 43 Then they cast their cords and their staves, and said: by the might of Fir'awn, verily we! we shall be the winners. 44 Therefore Moosa put forth his staff – so it immediately began swallowing all their fabrications. 45 The magicians fell down prostrate, 46 Crying: We believe in the Lord of the Worlds, 47 The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 48 He (Pharaoh) said: 'You have believed him before I have given you permission. He is the chief of you who has taught you sorcery. But you shall know. I will surely cut off on opposite sides a hand and a foot, and crucify you all.' 49 They said, “No harm (in it), we will return to our Lord.” 50 Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers." 51

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
