S (Saad)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Sad. CONSIDER this Qur'an, endowed with all that one ought to remember! 1 But the unbelievers are still full of pride and hostility. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them who cried (for mercy) when it was too late for escape. 3 They were surprised that one of them had come to them as warner; and the unbelievers said: "He is a deceiving sorcerer. 4 "Has he made the gods (all) into one Allah? Truly this is a wonderful thing!" 5 And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. 6 We have not heard of any such thing in the old religion. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 Has the message been revealed to him out of [all of] us?" Rather, they are in doubt about My message. Rather, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Or, have they the treasuries of the Mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Giving? 9 Or is it that the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? If so, let them ascend up with means (to the heavens)! 10 A defeated host are (all) the factions that are there. 11 Before them, the people of Nooh had denied, and the tribe of A’ad, and Firaun who used to crucify. 12 And [the tribe of] Thamud and the people of Lot and the companions of the thicket. Those are the companies. 13 There was not one of those that did not belie the Messengers. Therefore, My retribution was realized. 14
