Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And lo! the judgment will indeed befall. 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 your ideas are confused. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
