Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
