Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Hath there come unto thee tidings of the Overwhelming? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Labouring, wearied out, 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 They will be given to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food will there be for them but a bitter Dhari' 6 Which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Well-pleased with their endeavour, 9 In a high Garden. 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein is a fountain flowing, 12 and couches raised high, 13 And cups put in place 14 and arranged cushions 15 and well spread carpets. 16 What, do they not consider how the camel was created, 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the hills, how they are set up? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 God shall chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then indeed only upon Us is their reckoning. 26
