And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 when he said to his father and his people, 'What do you serve?' 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: Do they hear you when ye cry? 72 Do they help or harm you?" 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 Ye and your fathers of old? 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 who has created me and is the One who guides me, 78 And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink. 79 who, when I am sick, heals me; 80 “And He will give me death, then resurrect me.” 81 "And who, I hope, will forgive me my faults on the day of Judgment. 82 “My Lord, bestow me the command and join me with those who deserve your proximity.” 83 and appoint me a tongue of truthfulness among the others. 84 Make me inherit the bountiful Paradise. 85 and forgive my father; for he is one of the misguided; 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 "The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 but only he that brings to Allah a sound heart will (attain to success)." 89 And the Garden will be brought nigh for those who ward off (evil). 90 whereas the blazing fire will be laid open before those who had been lost in grievous error; 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 besides God? Will the idols help you? Can they help themselves?" 93 "Then they will be thrown headlong into the (Fire),- they and those straying in Evil, 94 And the hosts of Iblis all together. 95 And there and then, blaming one another, they [who had grievously sinned in life] will exclaim: 96 "We were clearly misguided 97 In equating you with the Lord of all the worlds; 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 “Nor a caring friend.” 101 "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104
