The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 shall call for destruction 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Therefore give to them glad tidings of a painful punishment, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
