'Aad denied the messengers 123 Recall, when their brother Hud said to them: "Have you no fear? 124 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 125 fear God, then, and obey me. 126 And I ask of you no hire therefor: my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 127 Do you build over each high place a sign to amuse yourselves! 128 and do you take to you castles, haply to dwell forever? 129 And when you strike, you strike as tyrants. 130 So fear you God, and obey you me; 131 Fear Him who has bestowed on you what you know, 132 He has bestowed on you cattle, and sons, 133 and gardens, and springs -- 134 I am afraid that you will suffer the torment of the Day of Judgment." 135 They said: "It is the same to us whether you preach or be not of those who preach. 136 This is not but the custom of the former peoples, 137 and we shall not be chastised.' 138 So they gave him the lie, then We destroyed them. Most surely there is a sign in this, but most of them do not believe. 139 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 140
