Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 which then smoothly speed along, 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Only those who are destined to revert, are reverted from it. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 (It is) the day when they will be tormented at the Fire, 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord gives them, because, before then, they lived a good life. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 and at dawn would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
