Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 storming tempestuously 2 And by the winds that scatter clouds and rain; 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 when the mountains shall be scattered 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Judgement. 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 Thereafter We shall cause to follow them the latter ones. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not caused the earth to hold within itself 25 for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Proceed to that which you denied. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 as black camels. 33 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will it be open to them to put forth pleas. 36 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 40
